Uniform grading of wheat, the most important question before the grain Interests of the country, wan the principal subject of discussion at the convention of the grain dealers In this cfty today. The quality of wheat, varying with soli and climatic conditions In different sections of the country, has supplied a great obstacle to uniform grading, and the association is split in two factions on the matter. It Is hoped beforo this convention closes It will be possible to formulate a grading grad-ing plan upon which the Chicago Board of Trade and all the other wheat interests inter-ests shall be able to agree, and thus fend off general government inspection, to which the majority of the members of the association are opposed. United States Senator Albert J. Bev-eridgc Bev-eridgc addressed the convention today. |
