Show LOGAN TAKES STAND IH HISJ1 BEHALF Now Expected That Murder Trial Will Go to the Jury Today. David Logan, on trial in Judgo Lowis's division of tho third district court, for the alleged cold-blooded murder mur-der of Richard Hawkins in "Candy Pill" McKcn.ie's saloon at 33 Commercial Commer-cial street, September 10, took tho stand in his own behalf, Jfridaj afternoon. Logan had not uite " finished when 5 o'clock came and adjournment was taken until 9 o'clock this morning, when he will resumo the stand. Ho is the last witness for the defense, and unless un-less the stato wishes to present witnesses wit-nesses in rebuttal, the argument will bo proceeded as soon as ho leaves the stand. The argument will be much .shorter than usual for the reason that there is only one argument from each side, District Dis-trict Attorney Fred C. Loofbourrow alono representing tho stato, while the defendant has 01)13 ono representative. In all probability the caso will go to tho jur3' this afternoon. Tho witnesses called for Logan Friday- were Edward Johnson. Charles Smith, Georgo S. Winters. Henry Bogna, .lohn Shepherd, Mr. and Mrs. S. Uobbs, John Tolvcr and George Scabp. |
