| Show STILL FUNDS the johnstown relief committee put in a days work pa july 20 mrs S marvin and secretary J R kremer of the flood keliel commission were in town today to day they visited the commissary and other relief headquarters and express themselves as pleased with what they saw mr kremer says that has already been expended in johnstown not including the now being paid out he did not give figures to show clearly where this money has but said it exceeded sone ne hundred homes had been bought or contracted for costing each costing each aad two story homes to be built by contractor hughes at each in addition fity two business stands had been built at a cost of each this would male a total of in addition some money was spent for coffins lumber and the like over three fourths of the money coming into tho hands of governor beaver direct was for the sufferers of the conemaugh valley the balance being for the flood sufferers of pennsylvania mr kremer said that it was likely the williamsport William sport region would get another appropriation as it seemed they had not received their share when asked why a clear statement of the moneys received and expended was not made he said there was a difficulty in determining as to what fund certain items should be charged such for instance as the burial of the dead it was a question he said whether the stale had a right to pay for that and until these questions were determined it was not considered proper to make a statement judge cummin only spent n short time at his office this morning he being somewhat indisposed and treasurer thompson assisted him in his share of the work this was the biggest days work yet and the whole force was kept busy until 6 being paid out dui ing the day only two bodies were taken to the morgue today to day |
