| Show wool trade deview the situation differs very little rom that of last week except that receipts within a few days past have increased a little and there is now a probability that supplies will begin to come forward more freely offerings of most descriptions are still very light ho weyer and while there is no activity in the demand the requirements quire ments of buyers have thus far absorbed the arrivals of new wool about as fast as they have been opened the market throughout is very strong and tending upward in response to the higher couk of new wool in country markets many lots are held above the present leiws of buyers but there is growing confidence that the advances asked will bo realized as it is impossible to bring wool forward for ward from any point to sell at old prices of washed fleeces at interior points have been advanced BO much above a parity with eastern markets that buyers are becoming more conservative and late advises advices indicate a partial withdrawal of dealers from several points in ohio throughout the west however the feeling among growers is very firm and dealers und interior operators are paying prices that fully justify the stiffening views of holders in this market the goods trade outlook is improving and a few initial sales of lightweight light weight fabrics for mens wear have been at five per cent advance over last seasons prices manufacturers generally are more hopeful concerning the prospects for the coming season the mills are more nearly on an even footing as to the cost of raw material than they were a year ago when some concerns were stocked up with wool at much lower prices than others and were position to accept comparatively low prices for their product this year the interests ot all manufacturers will bo likely to cause a more profitable level and the curtailment of foreign competition by recent treasury rulings will help the home mills in the efforts to advance prices in view of this situation in the goods trade and the continued strength of wool values in all the markets of tho world there is growing confidence in the trade outlook among local receivers wo quote as follows COLORADO IDAHO WYOMING fine 16 20 medium 20 24 fine medium 18 20 carpet 16 17 |
