Show 1 NEWS OF EPHRAIM 1 Special to The Tribune. EPHRAIM. March 2S. Jorgcn Jensen of this city was laid to rest yesterday by the side of his wife, who died several years ago. Mr. Jensen was ono of the highly respected citizens of this place, having been a resident here for many years. He died at tho homo of his daughter. Mrs. M. Rasmusscn. Wednesday Wednes-day from pneumonia, after on Illness of only two days. -He was 00 years .of age. and had always been in the best of health until taken sick with pneumonia. The funeral fu-neral services were held at the tabernacle, taberna-cle, yesterday, and many words of praise were spoken of the pioneer. The services were conducted by Bishop John b. Bcal and the tabernacle choir furx nished tho music under the direction of Prof. Frank A. Chrlsiensen. The speakers speak-ers were A. C. Nllson. Andrew Olscn, Andrew An-drew Thompson and Bishop BeaJ. The pall-bearers were Lawrence and Theo Rasmussen, James Knowlcs of Eureka. J. K. Madsen of Mt. PleaEant, Otto Nllson and Andrew Olsen. Thc stork left a fine baby boy at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ephralm Chrlsten-sen Chrlsten-sen yesterday. A double funcc-il was held at Sallna today to-day over the remains of the o-months-old baby of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Dlethffson. and the a-yeaiold girl of Mr. and Mrs. Orrln Williams. Both children died from pneumonia Wednesday. Several other children In that plnce are. not expected to live, being sick with tho same disease. Christian Frcderickson of Conterilcld will leave during thc week for Denmark to fulfill a two ycars'v mission for the Mormon church. A party was given in his honor Friday night at his home, which was largely attended. A dainty lunch was served and hc was presented with a purse amounting to a neat Ilttlo sum o money. Mlfs Mary Ann Anderson of Wales, one of. tho popular young ladles of that cltv. was married Wednesday to Claud Perry of Spring Lake. A wedding reception was given In their honor at Wales last night. They will be at home In Spring Lake after aft-er April . |
