kansas city where several streets and sewers were badly washed out the railroads are badly demoralized and not a road sent in a train exactly on time tonight most of the roads are from one to three hours late but the western lines are in a worse shape and the denver express on the union pacific due at 7 a m did not get in until 4 this afternoon A large portion of the cliff facing the missouri river was washed down over the chicago alton tracks and that road was compelled to use the wabash tracks tonight to night to nights reports regarding storm indicate it was more serious than at first thought the railroads are the chief sufferers two spans of the bush creek bridge on the C M st P by near liberty mo were washed away and trains between kansas city and have been abandoned the kansas city st joseph and council bluffs tracks are submerged twelve inches for a long distance near the hannibal tracks are also under water near liberty all eastbound east bound bock island trains go from kansas city via st joseph to cameron the union pacific is badly damaged near manhattan kansas where the track is thirteen thi iteen feet above low water mark the missouri pal cine is badly demoralized in all directions ions and its trains are from two to four hours late several bad wash outs are reported between here and little blue in this city the eighteenth street cable line was delayed six hours on account oe the flood and the power house of the tenth street line was sc badly flooded that the water had to be pumped out of the boiler room for several hours to keep the machinery in operation the twelfth street was stopped for over one hour on account of water flooding the conduits in the loop at the eastern city limits between fifteenth and sixteenth streets for a distance of two blocks in the eastern part odthe city the entire surface in under water nearly all the dwellings in that region are submerged causing great inconvenience at kansas city kansas worth of damage lias been done in Armour dale a number of cottages were floated while in split log creek there is an area of ten acres that is now a lake from five to twenty feet deep the bouse of mr heiler was flooded to
