Show SLATE THAT IS EXPECTED TO GO THROUGH TODAY - :-v'Mt. : i . .-."::-! APOSTLE-SKN'ATOR SMOOT. I- SENATOR SUTHERLAND. REPRESENTATIVE HOWELL. (': ED LOOSE. W. D. LIVINGSTON. BILL GLASMANN. ! .... " rHM"II"I"HI"r The abovo is the Smoot slate for delo-gates delo-gates to tho National convention, to bo selected by Thursdaj-'s Smoot Republican Re-publican convention. As tho Smootitcs aro said to bo in control of tho convention con-vention thero is but little doubt that at least four of tho six will bo iiamod. There will be a fight on Ed Loose, however, how-ever, becauso of the fact that ho comes from Smoot 's county, nnd it will bo contended that it is unfair to other portions of tho Stato to select two men from tho same count'. There nlso will bo a fight on "Buffalo" "Buf-falo" Bill Glasniann just on general principles. Bill's own crowd is usually against him except whero tho frame-up is such that they cannot escape, and it is fair to pres'umo that tho present convontion will not bo an exception to the general rule. Thero is likely to be somo opposition to tho selection of W. D. Jjivingston, because ho has thrown it into the Smoot crowd on more than one occasion. Summit county will insist upon f he-selection he-selection of Dr. Wilson and Juab county coun-ty will come up strong for J. P. Dris-coll, Dris-coll, but it is not likoly that the slate will bo even scratched. |
