Show NOTICE OF SALE OF BONDS BY SALT LAKE, OITY, UTAII. To whom It may concern: ' Notice Is hereby given, that under and by authority of a majority vote of tho qualified electors of Salt Lake City, Utah, at an election duly hold In said city July 29, 1908. favoring tho Incurring of a bonded Indebtedness in tho sum of four hundred and scventy-llVo thousand ($475,000.00) dollars, for the purpose of defraying the expense of Increasing, Improving, Im-proving, enlarging, extending, perfecting nnd adding to the water supply and watorworks system of said city In the way and manner set out In an ordinance submitting sub-mitting tho question of Incurring said Indebtedness In-debtedness to said qualified elector., passed by tho City Council Juno 18, 190S, nnd approved by tho Mayor Juno 19, 190S; and also favoring tho Incurring of a bonded indebtedness In the sum of ono hundred and twcnty-livo thousand ($125,000.00) dollars, for tho purpose of completing, Increasing, oxtcndlng ami adding to the sower system of said city In the way nnd manner eet out in said ordinance, Salt Lnkn Cltj' proposes to Issue and sell bonds of tho faco vnluo ot four hundred and soventy-fivo thousand (?475.000.00) dollars, to Increase, Improve, enlarge, extend, perfect and add to Jtn water supply and watorworks system as aforesaid; nnd bonda of tho face voluo of one hundred and twenty-flvo thousand (5125,000.00) dollars, to comploto, increase, extend and add to its sewer system ns aforesaid, said bonds to bear Intorest at the rato not to exceed four and ono-half (IJ) per cent por annum, payable semiannually, semi-annually, and becomo duo aDd payable at tho end of twenty year3 from the da to of lssuo, with tho option reserved to Iho city to pay or refund tho Eamo at any tlmo after tho expiration of ten (10) years after tho date of Issue, nnd shall bo of such denomination or denominations as tho City Council may hereafter determine. deter-mine. Tho net rcvonuo from said water system shall bo set apart, and shall bo a sinking fund for the payment of said wator bonds, and the Interest thereon: and tho City Council shall annually lovy a sufficient tax to pay tho Interest on said sewer bonds as It falls duo, and also to constitute a Rlnking fund for tho payment pay-ment of tho principal thereof. That under and pursuant lo'a resolution of tho City Council of Salt Lako City passed August 6, 1908, and approved by the Mayor August 7, 1908, tho undersigned under-signed Mayor and City Recorder of said city wero authorised and directed to advertise ad-vertise for bids for said bonds, lu certain newspapers therein named. Now, therefore, in conformity with said resolution, and under tho directions therein there-in contained, tho undersigned Mayor and City Recorder of Salt Lako City hereby give notice that bids vlll ba received for the purchase of said bonds until August 31. 190S, at 7:30 o'clock p. m.. at which tlmo all bids mii3t be In the hands of tho City Recorder, and will then be opened. All bonds to be dated October 1. 190S, and to bo purchased and paid for In the following manner: WATER BONDS. Two hundred thousand ($200,000.00) dollars dol-lars thereof on October 1, 190S; Ono hundred and fifty thousand ($150.-000.00) ($150.-000.00) dollars thereof on January 1. 1909; and tho remaining one hundred and twenty-five thousand ($125,000.00) dollars thereof on April -1. 1909. SEWER BONDS. Ono hundred and twenty-flvo thousand ($125,000.00) dollars on October 1, 1908. Each and every bid for tho purchase of said bonds shall be accompanied with a certified check for one per cc-nt of tho faco value of bonds bid for, payable to tho order of tho City Treasurer of Salt Lake City, as a guaranty of good faith on the part of tho bidder, nnd to reimburse re-imburse said city for Its loss and expense in this behalf in case the bidder shall not perform his bid aflor acceptance thereof by tho city. No bid will be considered con-sidered for less than tho face value of said bonds. Salt Lake City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to accept any bid deemed advantageous to said city.
