birthday bishop loveless is a native of the old Bu Aeye state ohio where he was burn in the year 1828 he is now the father of 37 children 51 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren of hia 37 children 11 were FOHS and 26 dauch t rf three of the boys and four ofal girls have died of the remaining 80 2 boys and 11 daughters are married mai ried leaving G boye and 11 daughters unmarried the grand feature of the gathering was th elderly lady the mother of the bishop who sat at the head of the four generations present she is 85 years of age and a native of tennessee the assembly numbered over one hundred some eighty five of whom were of the family shortly after three in the afternoon the entire family and invited guests sat around tables groaning under the weight of the luxurious repast this life aud then be gatli ored homa to her fathers I 1 truly hope and pray that bishop loveless family who represents her fourth generation may emulate her worthy example and honor their father and mother that their days may be long in the land that the lord their god hath given them I 1 have been acquainted with bishop loveless father and mother over hifa century for w passed through the also peace and joy I 1 have spent some time in captivity with him and I 1 think I 1 biow his heart it is truo to his friends and without an exception full of love and good will toward his children he studies their needs and takes pleasure in them as far as he can and the time will come when they and others of hia posterity yet unborn will honor his name on the earth I 1 was much affected this his venerable mother who is eighty alve years of age bearing her testimony to the divinity of the gospel and its restoration in the latter days I 1 knew that she spoke mcder the inspiration of tho holy ghost she is weak and feeble in body but she spoke in the strength and power of inspired truth she advised her numerous posterity to adhere to the word of god and to live pure i and bioly lives she testified that god has spoken to man and ehe counseled all her children to love and arv him all their days who is there amons ten thousand that should dispute the hoaas ty and sincerity of this ripened sister who spoke as from the threshold of eternity words of counsel for the future guidance of thoa whom she loved dearer than her own life these are words spoken from a heart tempted and tested for over years in tha service other lord children let her mony live in your hearts while lifa lasts or immortality endures she blessed you in the name of tha lord jesus christ this is Patriarch ial she has this right and authority by virtue of the gospel and her motherhood and the god of heaven will seal it upon your heads according to your faithfulness her blessing reminds me of father adam of whom it is recorded that three years previous to hia deatle he called his posterity taho were righteous together into alic of adam ahlam and there bestowed upon them his last blessing and the lord appeared unto them and they rose epand blessed adam and called him michael the prince the archangel and the lord administered unto adam and said unto him I 1 have set thee to be at the head a
