students of the senior class have responded to calls in practical schoolwork in various parts of the territory of whom three intend coming bask however for the last ten weeks these have attended during taco term to one hundred and forty nine repetitions and conducted thirty one due work classes besides that many of them ibave kindly acted as substitutes in cases of absence of regular teachers in this connection special mention must be made of the labors of brother edwin cutler who during the compulsory ab senco of brother nelson caused by severe sickness in the family conducted many boarding places repeatedly visited by 54 appointed representatives of the principal domestic meetings were held for and instructions in charge of mrs laura foote comprising young ladies of whom 22 were excused engaged in plain sewing G in and knitting 2 in crochet and ac crema 15 in etching 30 in embroidery 6 in patchwork and 1 in painting the work of these young ladies is en exhibition to day literary subjects ts were delivered readings recitations and answers to questions were interspersed with songs by the choir by amateurs instrumental pieces oa the organ violin mandolin and guitar of this institution has there manifested itself such a united and harmonious operation cooperation co not only among the teachers but also between them and the students producing moral intellectual and spiritual results which fill our hearts with j oy and gratitude to god for his support and blessing CLOSING this the first term of academic year has opened under the most favorable auspices
