Nearly an hundred children and young women took part in the events, "under the able direction of their teacher. Miss A. I. Brooks. A May pole dance, in which twenty-two little children danced, was first on the programme, and made a most effective scene. It was followed by a fancy dance by lit.tlo Miss Naomi IToffmnn. This was followed bv a dumb bell drill, thirty-four of the larger girls taking part," all dressed in gymnasium suits of white waists, with blue bloomers and rod neckties. Next was the fancy step und figure march, thirty-two taking part. Other drills which followed, and in each of which twenty participated, were Tndian clubs, hoops, bounding balls, marching tactics, rings, aud wands. Two fancy dances, in which the thirtj- young womon carried wreaths of different colored flowers, concluded Lhe exercises. Punch was served during l.he afternoon by some of the boarders. J'he qlce club of fourteen, under the direction of Mrs. Plummer, sang two school songs. Owing to the wind, the liablo contest had to be abandoned, but the finals in the tennis tournament sverc pla3'ed. Tjie silver loving cups were won by Miss Netta Uglow aud Miss L3dia "Qnantrel. Tn the tether ball contest. Miss Dorotlry Jacobs won Lhe silver spoon. In the archery contest, con-test, Miss Alice Anderson won tho prize for the greatest number of hits, LI out of 15. Miss Beatrice. Sumner ,vou the highest score. The prizes were silver spoons. In another contest Miss Seuluh Behle and Miss Dorothy Blunck ;vcre the winners. Alexander entertained Four tables at a bridge tea at her apartments in the Bransford. Monday afternoon, in honor of Miss Lejla iStingley. The rooms were prettily iecorated with bridal wreath and peonies. peo-nies. Prizes were won by Mrs. Jack-Rooklidge, Jack-Rooklidge, Miss Mildred McMillan, Miss Stingle3r and Miss Marv Smedley. Tea was poured by Mrs. W. E. Fife, assisted as-sisted by Miss Georgia Moore. Tho seventh grade pupils of the training scliool entertained the graduating gradu-ating class at the university Monday afternoon. The rooms were prettily iecorated with flags. A ting game was plaved. Later, patriotic songs were sung by the two grades. The refreshments refresh-ments were of the clasg colors, pink and white, with 'OS and '09 made in jandies on the tops of the dainties. Mrs. Sam Porter and children, who iiave been visiting Mrs. Porter's parents par-ents in Chicago, will return the first if the week, accompanied by Miss Bicr-Lano, Bicr-Lano, who will spend several weeks aere.
