Show Elect Alma Fisher President of Education Alma Fisher of or East First of or orthe South was elected President the Davis County Education Association Association As As- at the annual convention convention conven conven- tion lion of the Association held at Bountiful High School on Monday Monday Mon Mon- day Feb 22 Mr 11 Fisher was elected by popular vote of the teachers of the county present at the convention He succeeds Gayle Stevenson Elected with Mr Fisher were Dale Schofield instructor at the South Clearfield Clearfield Clearfield Clear- Clear field Elementary School as first vice-president vice and ret i iring r ing president Gayle Stevenson will act as second vice Also elected at the meeting were wc-re nine members of the tho group who will serve in the House of Delegates of or the Utah Association as well as serving on the executive committee of the Davis County Education Association They are arc Florence and Richard Layton of the North Davis Junior High School from district one Blaine Blame Heyer Central Central Cen Cen- Davis Junior High School and Rex Davis High school district two LaMarr Burton Tolman Elementary and Stephen Whitesides Centerville Center Center- ville Elementary district three and Patricia Ashton Bountiful Elementary P Paul a u 1 Barton Bountiful High School and James Parrish Bountiful Junior Junior Jun Jun- High district four Mr Fisher brings a wealth of educational experience and background to the new position as well as previous activity in inthe inthe inthe the association He was born in Syracuse Utah and moved to lo Bountiful in 1932 He began his teaching career in Garfield County in 1926 and came to the Davis School District in 1927 where he has taught continuously continue except for time out when he filled a mission to Canada He is at present teaching at the Central Centra Davis Junior High School in Layton In the association Mr Fisher has served as a member of the tha House of Delegates faculty representative rep c to the 1st vice-president vice to Bob Simpson who is now president of the Utah Education Association and second vice-president vice of the Davis County Association Mr 1 Fisher built his present home on First South Street in 1939 and recently enlarged and remodeled it His Ills wife is also a school teacher in the Davis is district |
