VARSITY FOOTBALL : SEASON OPENS TODAY Team, in Charge of Coaches iMaddock and Milne, Woes lo Lagoon. With the Issue of a dozen suits, Coach Maddock, Wednesday, started off the University football season for the coming year. Today Assistant Coach Milne 'will take the candidates out to Lagoon for two weeks of preliminary training. Captain ConvllI and about, eight of the old nien have already reported, and tin; new .material, though Inexperienced, la husky and fast'. It is expected that this pro-season practice- will show what these now men are made of. as well as serve to work the veterans Into trim. The coach expects that within a few days tho squad will have Increased to at least twenty-five. Until school begins the men will spend their entire tlmo at the resort. Sleeping-quarters Sleeping-quarters have been provided over the bath-houses and . special diet will bo : served at the cafe. While Mllno will be In personal charge of tho boyn. Maddock-will, Maddock-will, of course, direct arfalrs and spend most of his time at the resort. -
