IVAMPA MATTE SAID TO BE SHUT OFF Report were current Friday which look like punctures for the Eastern Ideas to Uie effect that the United States Smelting, JCeflnlng and Mining company oxpected to continue Its local smelting plant. A. well-defined well-defined rumor gamed currency during the day to tho effect that the Yampa company com-pany had been notified that after a dato soon to arrive the United States company would be compelled to refuse- any more rnatle from the smelter of the Yampa at Bingham. Confirmation of this report was not obtainable at either office of the two companies, and It is thought possible that i he matter was handled from the New York or Boston end of tho question. 7t has been a question of late Just hew ihe Yampa company would adjust Itself to he United States smelting conditions. At flic present low level of copper It would he a losing proposition to ship this matte from hero to the Mammoth smelter of the United States company at California, then :o the East aftor treatment. As far as hr United States company was concerned, therefore, It appeared as If tho Yampa would have to depend on the local plant, or find another market for Its product-The product-The Inttor course Is by no means Impossible Impossi-ble or Improbable, and some Interesting news Is expected soon from tho Eastern offices of ihe company.
