Show ONE MORE VICTIM OF THEJED HMD Governor-General Yon Liarliar-ski Liarliar-ski of "Warsaw Is Shot and Killed. ASSASSIN. UNKNOWN MAN. MAKES HIS ESCAPE Emperor and Empress Attend Funeral of General Min, Who Was Lately Slain. WARSAW, Aug. 27. Gen. Von Liar-liarski, Liar-liarski, acting military Governor-General of Warsaw, was "shot and killed at 2 o'clock this nftcrnoon while driving driv-ing in a cab. The assassin escaped. This morning an unknown man warned tho cab men of this city generally gen-erally not to drive any of the Generals. Gen. Von LiarliaTski was tho commander com-mander of tho Fifth army corps, stationed sta-tioned at Warsaw. Gen. Von Liarliarski was driving in a carriage from tho commandant's of-fico of-fico to his residence. As tho General's driver slackened speed at a placo whero the street was torn up for repaving an unknown young man fired four snots at Von Liarliarski through the top of the carriage, one of the bullets entering enter-ing tho General's breast under tho heart. The coachman whipped up his horses and drove at full speed to tho hospital, where tho General died almost al-most immediately. Gen. Liarliarski had only recently been appointod acting military Governor Gover-nor of this citv. In spite of the menace of activo war by tho terrorists against thoso nigh in authority, au earnest of which was the slaying of acting Gov.-Gen. Von Liarliarski Liar-liarski ot Warsaw today, Emperor Nicholas Nich-olas and the Empress quitted the 6holt-er 6holt-er of the palaco enclosure at Potcrhof this afternoon to attend a funcrnl mass over tho body of Gen. Min in tho Potcrhof Po-tcrhof camp, a considerable distance frohi the palace, but the precautious for tho protection of the imperial family were adequate and tho sovereigns returned re-turned to the palace without incident. Several of the Grand Dukes and delegations dele-gations from all the regiments in the St. Petersburg district were present. Honor to tho Victim. The body of Gen. Min will bo brought to St. Petersburg tomorrow on board a royal train over the special imperial line, which is used only in journeys of the Emperor between Sr. Petersburg and Peterhof, instead of oyer tho regular railroad used for ordinary or-dinary trnlhc. Tho Seminovsky regiment regi-ment will meet the body at tho station nnd escort it to the regimental chapel. Officers and men of this regiment have received many communications threatening threat-ening them with bombs and other reprisals. re-prisals. Tho funerals of many of the victims of tho explosion in the apartments of Premier Stolypin on Saturday also will tako place tomorrow. Tho supposition that the slayer of Gen. Min was tho "servant" "of the party concerned in tho Stolypin attempt at-tempt has been disproved, further investigation in-vestigation showing that the woman had been living under an admittedly false name with a peasant family in the village of Lusiua, near Peterhof, since August 1G. The extraordinary police po-lice surveillance at Petorhof had" not extended to Lusiua, and she escaped notice. no-tice. She was brought to St. Petersburg Peters-burg today in irons. Up to midnight no confirmation had been received from Luga of the reported re-ported assassination of Col. Itiemnn. To Dennis were sung today in many of the cities for tho escape of Premier Stolypin. Tho Premier lias received many telegrams of sympathy, but. it is noticeable that theso'all are from municipalities, muni-cipalities, bourses and other official or semi-official organizations and that tho general public is not represented. M. Stolypin 's daughter is still alive, but is highly nervous from the shock. There is some dissension iu tho camp of the social revolutionists over the decision de-cision to wage a wur of terrorism against all olhcials, as is manifested in ji proclamation bv the moderate wing of the party, washing its hands of the attempt on tho life of Premier Stolypin, Stoly-pin, which is attributed to tho "flying group," or younger members of "the party. Tl'ic Official Messenger announces that the officers ami soldiers detailed to guard Belenzofi', the loader of the band which robbed tho Credit Mutual bank of Moscow of -l37s500, will be court-martialed for allowing him to escape. |
