Show LIGHTNING KILLS BOY, OTHERS ARE INJURED Bolt Struck Tree in Chicago Under Un-der Which Victims Sought Shelter. CHICAGO, July 15. One person was killed and four others seriously burned by lightning today while seeking shelter shel-ter from a rainstorm under a tree at Iowa street and tho Lake Shore drive. Dead. UNIDENTIFIED BOY, about 15 years old. Injured. WILLIAM HAUPERS. GEORGE HOMAN. CHARLES STEELING. JOSEPH STEELING. Several buildings were struck by lightning and set on Are, the most se-, rlously damaged being tho residence of Archbishop James E. Qulgley at 623 North State street, which sustained a loss of about $10,000. The bolt of lightning Is thought to have struck a cable of the telephone company, as nearly every telephone bell on the North Exchange was rung. |
