Show II TESTING NEW LAW i j Illinois VoterB at Primaries Will Name I Candidates. CHICAGO, Aug. 3. The first test of I the now Illinois primary law, passed at ' a special session of the Legislature this yoar, enabling voters to name party nominees, will be given tomorrow afternoon after-noon at ono of flic liveliest primary cain-i cain-i paigns ever waged in this State. Every voter in three parties Republican, Democratic and Socialist will be called upon to vote directl for candi-i candi-i dates for office and delegates to the j conventions. Prohibitionists will not participate' in tomorrow's election, tho I voters of that party having made their r State and comity nominations under the j old law prior to July 1, when the new j law went into effect. Candidates to bo voted upon are Representatives Rep-resentatives in Congres3. members of the Legislature, State Treasurer and Superintendent of Public Instruction. Delegates will bo elected to the State, Congressional, legislative, county sani-i sani-i tary district and municipal conventions, j The vote tomorrow will also establish estab-lish party sentiment on United States Senator. Tho Democratic party has no j candidate for United States Senator. |
