Show PARADE IS FEATURE President is Too Busy to Review March of Veterans. WASHINGTON, Oct. IV The parade of the United Statos Spanish war veterans vet-erans today was tho feature of the nu-nual nu-nual encampment and reunion of that organization, and the lino of march was throneed by cheering thousands. President Roosevelt, who is a member of the organization, did not review tho parade, it being stated at the White House that ho was unable to do so because be-cause ox official duties. When President and Mrs. Roosevelt went out riding this afternoon they drove out of tho uorthwe6t cato of the White House grounds just as the rear of tho parade was passing. There was a convenient break in the line of march, through which the President's carriage, enroutc to tho suburbs, was driven. While he was crossing tho avenue in this breach in tho line he was recognized by the marchers" and was cheered, tho ovation continuing as the carriago proceeded up on Madison Place. |
