Harwood Wins Substantial Recognition in America-It America-It Is pleasing to note that a prominent 1 tah arllet has recently been honored by one of the most promising art societies In America Mr liar wood r- nils , ibmitted a picture pic-ture to the Society of Western Artists at Chicago, with the result that re.t onl was the picture (Which Is an Oil entitled "A Juv enile Mfchanlc " accept d. but on Its merits as a piece of the art the painter was elected an associate member mem-ber of tho society. Tins position carries with it the right to submit finv number of pictures for the exhibitions of the society, while non-members non-members may only submit three for acceptance ac-ceptance or rejection. He was the first I tah artist to have a picture hung In the French salon. Mr Harwood has exhibited at arlous times In the best exhibitions there In Paris, showing both water color and oil medium Portrait still life, landscape nnd figure paintings from his brush, have found their wa to the Paris exhibitions.
