Show MEN'S CLUB BANQUET Semi-Annual Flection Held, Followed by a Feast. Tho semi-annual banquet and election of officers of tho Men's club of the Congregational Con-gregational church was hold In the parlors par-lors of that church Monday evening, and which was attended by about scventy-llvc members of the club. The officers elected wcro ns follows: President A. O. Clark; first vice-president, G. K. Smith; second Vice-president', L. H. Curtis: treasurer, W. O. Cleland; secretary, Wm. Holbrook. Tho reports of the retiring officers were received and showed the club to be In a prosperous condition and with a membership of more than 100. All then repaired to the banquet hnll, whero a tempting repast was served. Joseph B. Evans acted as toastmaeter and the following wore called upon: "Roasting tho Retiring President," by Row E. I. Goshen; "Roasting the Retiring Re-tiring Secretary," by Secretary Cox of the Y. M. C A.; "Roasting the Retiring Treasurer," by L. E Hall; "Membership," "Member-ship," A. O. Clark. The task of "Roasting "Roast-ing Rev. E. I. Goshen" fell to W. H. Brammer, who dealt It out In "bunches." At tho conclusion of tho last toast all present sang that popular ballad "Every body Works But Goshen," which they had to repeat n3 an encore at the request of the gentleman concerned. |
