Joe Tibolla, Joyce Durnford, Betty Barnett, Delana Pollock, Donna Davies, and Dorothy Whitely. Betty Barnett B.H.S. SEVENTH GRADE PROJECT Don't be surprised if you hear the roar of airplanes for the seventh sev-enth grade students of the Bingham Bing-ham junior high school have been busily engaged in activity work for the previous month. They have just completed building a miniature airport. The planes and hangers were exclusively designed de-signed by the students. Passengers Passen-gers and pilots were constructed i of glass dolls cleverly dressed. The reason for the erection of this project is due to the study of transportation taken up by their teacher, Miss Ellen Sampson. Samp-son. B.H.S. MURRAY HIGH SCHOOL PRESENTS ASSEMBLY Murray high school, in return for the performance of our traveling trav-eling assembly, brought to us, Friday, a wonderful display of their talent. The theme of their assembly was carried over in a pleasing and interesting manner. Their vice president acted as mistress of ceremonies. Their thoughts and feelings were reiterated with vocal solos, duets and trios, tap dancing, trumpet trio, comical reading, harmonica solo. At the conclusion they gave us an off stage interpretation of their cheerintr section with 15 cheers for Bingham. Yes, the audience was hushed, entertained and extended their appreciation with the "heartiest" of applauses. Delana Pollock B.H.S. PATRIOTIC ASSEMBLY The Bingham high school presented pre-sented an assembly in honor of our beloved president, Abraham Lincoln, Monday, February 12. The American History class, sponsored by Mr. Clarence Pollard, Poll-ard, was in charge. Flag ceremonies were conducted conduct-ed by the Boy Scouts, after which Joel Jensen led us in the singing of "Star Spangled Banner." Ban-ner." The first number on the program was a theme on Abraham Abra-ham Lincoln, given by Mike Ru-bich Ru-bich with Frank Nelson acting Epperson added a sparkle to the program by an "a" and "b" number num-ber on his violin (Yankee Doodle and Roses of Picardy). Another theme was given by Donna Da-vies Da-vies on "Right Makes Might." Following this Russell Gust presented pre-sented us with a cornet solo. Harold Har-old Mattice gave the lasting words of Lincoln in his Gettysburg address. ad-dress. Reid Beckstead was our able speaker for the afternoon. He gave us an inspiring talk on Lincoln which was beneficial to all. Ethel Richards gave a reading read-ing "When the Flag Goes By". In conclusion the student body sang "America". Taps were played play-ed by Russell Gust, and our curtain cur-tain came down on an assembly in memory of our greatest of presidents, Abraham Lincoln. Donna Davies BINGHAM HIGH SCHOOLMES SENIOR CLASS RINGS If you happen to see a group of admiring school students you will undoubtedly find a senior in the center of the group showing show-ing off his newly-received class ring. The rings are yellow gold with two vertical bars of rose gold on either side of a block B on a blue raised crest. The rings caused quite a sensational sen-sational rush, and pleased the students immensely. Betty Barnett B H S CAMERA CLUB MEMBERS HEAR TALK ON "PERSONAL PHOTOGRAPHY" On Tuesday, February 6, the Camera Club met to hear a talk given by Helen Georgelas, a member of the club, on an article arti-cle written by Brumitte called, "Personal Photography." The noon hour wasn't long enough to hear the complete talk. The address dealt with the advantages ad-vantages of writing an autobiography autobio-graphy with pictures taken from childhood. The talk proved to be very interesting. The club is cooperating with the yearbook staff by collecting snapshots, and we hope to have a bigger and better snapshot section sec-tion this year. HIGH SCHOOL REPRESENTATIVES REPRESEN-TATIVES GUESTS AT UNIVERSITY OF UTAH Tuesday, February 6, eight members of the upper-division high school represented Bingham Bing-ham high school at a social luncheon lun-cheon and outing at the University Univer-sity of Utah. Miss Ada Roch, student body vice president of the university, instructed the group, which included in-cluded the Ogden representative also, through the various buildings build-ings on the campus and through Carlson Hall, girl's dormitory. The two schools were presented presen-ted to the Freshman class in Kingsbury hall, after which they were entertained at luncheon. An interesting speaker, Jay Newman, of Washington, D. C, who is a member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, related the capturing of Dillenger and "Baby Face" Nelson. Mr. Newman New-man was a member of the group |
