Show SPECIAL SESSION OF 'SENATE. Tragedy at Bingham Oanyon Necessitates Necessi-tates a Mooting. Tho Sennlo was convened in special session at 4 o'clock on Saturday afternoon after-noon by President S. H. Lovo. A quo- rum answered to roll call. An earnest prayer, couched in oloquont. words of sympathy befitting tho sad occasion, was offered by Rev. P. A. Simpkin, chaplain. The object of calling tho Senaio in special session. President Lovo stated, was to tako appropriate action on the sudden death of Soth Taft, lato a member mem-ber of tho House of Representatives, and Clinton Leigh, a representative of tho Herald, who had reported the proceedings pro-ceedings of the Houso for that pnpr-r. Tho President appointed a committee commit-tee of throo members to represent tho Senate at tho funeral obsequies of Mr. Taft at his late home in Thurbcr, Wayne county, Utah. President Lovo appointed Senators Brinkerhoif, Johnson John-son and Mjller as such committee. A letter was received by President Love stating that tho funeral of tho late Clinton Leigh would bo held from tho family residence on Capitol hill, Sunday aftornoon, at .1:30 o'clock. President Love appointed Senators Williams. Hulaniski, Walton and Park tn act as honorary pall-bearers. I .fab; and also the death by the sumo accident of Mr. Cllttlon B. Leigh, lato legislative reporter for the Salt Lake Herald in said Hoizso of Representatives; and. Whereas, through the untimely death f two such prominent citizens the State of L'fah has cause to mourn In common wilSi tho Immediate families and relatives of rhe deceased: therefore, be It Resolved, by tho Senate, that we do luMoby express our deep sympathy with the respective families of tho deceased in their hnavy bereavement and our sorrow sor-row nt the loss which the State thereby sustains: and bo It nlso Resolved, that the president shall appoint ap-point three members of tho Senate to represent this body and arrnnge to accompany ac-company the remains of the late Representative Rep-resentative Seth Taft to their Anal resting rest-ing place at Thurber, Wayne county.
