Show The playing of the high school band during our performance adds very much zest to it. Virginia Watkins deserves a lot of praise, as she has led us in some excellent yells. Many girls have submitted ideas on drills, and these girls deserve some credit for the lovely love-ly drills they have put on. We are planning to have a dancing party next month and to put on an assembly the later part of February. Marion Tett BINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL NOTES Assemblies Exchanged It is a custom for the Bingham high school to exchange assemblies assem-blies with all the schools in our basketball division. This has been a very successful plan and has been carried to the extent of being a tradition with the different differ-ent schools concerned. Friday the third of February, we took an assembly to Cyprus which was very successful. The theme we used was that of an auction, with Tommy Strelich presiding as auctioneer or master mas-ter of ceremonies. We have used this theme previously, changing a few of the numbers so as to give every one a chance to participate. par-ticipate. This outline was followed: The orchestra started out the program. Accordian duet, Lawrence Lawr-ence and Elaine; Reading, Ethel Richards, Vocal Solo, Mary Kan-nes; Kan-nes; Shag, Calvin Jones and Sherril Overson; Pinno duet, Marion Pett and Fay Zahler; Tap dance, Edith Leatherwood; Saxaphone solo, Roland Miller; Trio, Crump sisters; Tango, Betty Kinscy and Edna Smith; Reading, Read-ing, Tommy Strelich; number by the orchestra. The same day Cyprus brought an assembly here which was enjoyed en-joyed by the entire student body. Tuesday, the seventh of February, Febru-ary, Murray brought an assembly and displayed a fine group of talented students. These assemblies assem-blies are looked foreward to, and benefit the students. i Frances Fennell Wood-Burning In Art Class The advance art class has been very busy burning many plaques of all sizes and forms such as trays, tables, and holders of every description. All or these are very useful in the home. This is the first year the students stu-dents have had the opportunity to learn how to burn. The articles arti-cles are all on display in the show case in our main hall. This exhibit of wood-burning shows that the students are capable of doing lovely work and that they have accomplished so far a great deal in the art class. Anyone is invited to come and see the articles on exhibit. Edna Smith Pep Club News A tradition of the Bingham high school Pep club is to put on drills at all of the basketball games. This year we have some very capable leaders who have grand ideas for our drills. Agnes McDonald, Mc-Donald, Mary Beth Seal, Doreen Mannion, and Marie Singleton have been in charge of all the drills. We know they have done a good job, and we hope the public pub-lic has enjoyed them. |
