Show Public, School Children And Teachers Thanked For Birthday Dimes The following letter is self-explanatory. self-explanatory. Salt Lake City, Utah February 3, 1939 Bingham Bulletin Bingham Canyon, Utah I have just read in your January Janu-ary 25th issue the article "Dimes to Fight Terrible Disease". I appreciate ap-preciate this publicity given this cause of which I had the privilege privil-ege of serving as County Chairman Chair-man and I especially want to thank the Bingham committee for raising over $100 in the drive as compared to $13.00 raised in Bingham last year. I have written writ-ten personal letters to each member mem-ber of the committee but wish you would put an item in the Bulletin thanking each one who served and all those who contributed, con-tributed, especially the school children and teachers. Mr. Ed Johnson, your mayor, was in our office a day or so ago and reported the fine cooperation coop-eration everyone had given in the drive up there. Walker, chairman Salt Lake County Committee Infantile Paralysis Drive Note: a total amount of $202.91 was collected by the committee in charge of the "March of Dimes" for Infantile paralysis in the Bingham Canyon district. A total of $179.50 was turned over to Mr. Walker by Mayor Johnson, John-son, the balance of the receipts, $23.41, was used in paying for buttons, placards, containers, and other expenses. One half of the amount given Mr. Walker will remain in Salt Lake county fund for the fight against the disease, the other half will be forwarded the national na-tional foundation. |
