Show Comnriffee on Its Location Has Not Definitely Decided on Place. FINAL ACTION HAS AGAIN BEEN DELAYED Committee Will Start on Next Friday to Investigate Several Locations. Tho commltteo on the location of tho now agricultural experiment farm did not definitely decldo upon a site yesterday, yester-day, but deferred final action until such members ns havo not scon tho proposed eltcs can visit them. Tho committee will start on next Friday for Utah and Davis counties to Investigate tho several locations lo-cations offered, and a mooting will then bo called to decide tho matter. Met Behind Closed Doors. All the members of tho general com-, mltteo were present at yesterday's mooting, moot-ing, which was hold behind closed doors In the office of the Stato Land Board. Tho commltteo consists of "W. S. McCor-nlck. McCor-nlck. George C. Whltmoro, J. M. Mo-Callster, Mo-Callster, Evan Owon. Lorenzo Stohl. Thomas Smart. Mrs. Susa Young Gates of tho Agricultural college board; Dr. P. A. Yoder, director of tho agricultural experiment ex-periment station at Logon, and Stato Land Commissioners Spry, Candland, Thaln, Hays and Dixon Two Reports Brought In. Two reports were brought in from the sub-committee appointed to investigate tho various sites offered. Tho majority of tho sub-committee, Senator Whltmoro, Whlt-moro, Prof. McCalllstor and Dr. Yoder, reported In favor of the tdte at Spanish Fork. Tho minority, Messrs. Spry and Candland. presented four sites, thoso at Farmlngton, Davis county; Provo, Lehl and Spanish Fork. Utah county, asking that the general committee pass Judgment Judg-ment on all. Minority Report Virtually Approved. Tho action of the general commltteo wns in effect an approval of tho minority report. All tho members of the general commltteo com-mltteo may visit tho proposed sites, although al-though It Is not obligatory on tho part of thoso who have already seen them to mako the trip to bo taken next Friday. The proposed site at Pleasant Grovo was eliminated from consideration. Tho commltteo com-mltteo had heretofore removed Salt Lake county from tho field of contestants. All Make Same Offer. Each of tho places seeking the location of the experimental farm makes practically practi-cally tho samo offer, which Is not loss than sixty ncros of ground, free of Incumbrance, with water for irrigation, culinary purposes and fire protection, and electric light and power. The commltteo was In session for moro than two hours, hut It was stated nftcrward that tho proceedings pro-ceedings had been entirely harmonious. |
