II. Trevarthen was hostess. She was assisted by Miss Mary Robertson of Long Beach, Cal., her sister, who is here to spend the summer. Prizes at cards were won bv Mrs. George W. Bolman, Mrs. W. G. Thomas and Mrs. Esther Sumnicht. Martha Circle has discontinued meetings until next fall. 4 Rebekahs A social followed regular busi-ness for members of the Ruth Rebekah lodge No. 7, I.O.O.F.. Tuesday evening at the home of Miss Althea Christensen. Winning high at bridge were Mrs. Mike F. Brisk, Mrs. James Denver and Mrs. S. T. Nerdin, consolation. A tasty luncheon was served to 13. Mrs. Paul F. Erz was an invited guest. Bridge Party Wednesday Night Mrs. J. L. Householder and Miss Betty Householder enter-tained Wednesday evening at a prettily-arrange- d bridge party and luncheon. The 22 guests brought wedding gifts for Mr. and Mrs. Jack Householder of Arlington, Va whose marriage was an event of the early spring. Mrs. Householder is the former Betty Bradford of Los Angeles. Prizes at cards went to Mrs. John Jolley of Lehi, Mrs. E. J. Householder and Mrs. Thomas Hatch of Lark. Mrs. Dorius Ad-ams won house prize. Maurine and baby Ro- - June 24 Marriage Date Of Miss Lydia Jenkins Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Lydia Anne Jenkins and Richard L. Densley, son of Mr. and Mrs. I. J. Densley, in the Salt Lake LDS temple Tin'S'lay. David A. Broadbent performed the ceremony. Miss Jenkins is u daughter of S A. Jenkins of Vernal and has made her home here with a sis-ter, Mrs Carl A. Curtis. A miscellaneous shower Mon-day afternoon was given for the bride by Mrs. Dee Jenkins, Mrs. Lee Jenkins and Mrs. Edward Jenkins in Vernal. A nicely-arrange- d luncheon was served to 37 guests. A variety of lovely gifts was opened and displayed. Following the temple cere-mony a wedding dinner was held at a Salt Lake City cafe. Mrs. Curtis accompanied the young couple through the temple. The bridegroom's parents and Mr. Curtis joined them for dinner. The couple will make their home in Bingham. A wedding reception at the Bingham LDS ward chapel tonight (June 27), is planned in their honor. i: Linger Longer Sweet peas, snapdragons and a variety of early summer flow-ers decorated the rooms at the home of Mrs. Gordon T. Buckle of Copperton Wednesday 'even-ing when the Linger Longer club members were her guests. Priz-es at bridge went to Mrs. H. R. Gust, Mrs. J. T. Davis, Mrs. Aim-er A. Berg. Invited guests includ-ed Mrs. Gust, Mrs. Barley N. English and Mrs. E. E. Longfel-low. A delicious late luncheon was served to eight. Shilling Wedding Event of Friday Of general interest is the ac-count of the marriage of John Jacob Shilling, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Shilling of 1401 Sigs-be- e avenue, Salt Lake City, and Miss Dorothy E. Sturner of Salt Lake City. Mr. Shilling was a member of the class of 1!41, Uni-versity of Utah, and served last vear as student body president. His father is assistant to the gen-eral manager of the Utah Copper company. The family formerly lived in Bingham and have many friends and acquaintances here. St. Paul's Episcopal church was the scene of the wedding last Friday. The Ilev. A. E. Butch-er performed the ceremony. White peonies, gladoli and other blooms filled the church and decorated the altar. The same flowers, green palms and ferns stood in the chancel. The bride's attendant, Miss Charlotte Swaner, wore a gown of Stardust blue marquisette, a picture hat of shell pink trim-med with pale pink velvet. Her bouquet was of roses and lilies of tiie valley. A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. K. S. Sturner of 1040 Yale avenue, Salt Lake City, the bride was given in marriage by her father. She was charming in a gown of pale dusty pink, with a bodice of Renaissance lace, full long sleeves, high round neckline and full marquisette skirt. A circular shoulder-lengt- h veil was caught on top her head with a cluster of pink rosebuds and she carried an armful of white marguerites. Richard Shilling, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Ushers were Wayne Davis Haw-kins and George L. Denton. A wedding breakfast at the Alta club for members of the two fa-milies and the bridal party fol-lowed. The couple plan to make their home in Provo following a short honeymoon in California. For traveling the bride wore a smart green silk suit and beige acces-sories. Many from Bingham and Cop-perfie- ld attended the wedding. Democratic Study Group To Picnic A picnic supper at Big Cotton-wood canyon July 12 is planned by members of the Democratic Study group. On the refresh-ments and entertainment commit-tee are Mrs. George A. Panos, Mrs. Ellis Boron, Mrs. Frank Shafter and Mrs. C. A. Dunn. Members and husbands of the Study Group will attend. Last Saturday evening at the Eagles' hall a hot supper follow-ed by five hundred was enjoyed by the Study group. 43 were in attendance, prizes going to Mrs. J. T. JJavis, Mrs. Amy Walters, Mrs. Christine Tibbie, H. K. Salm of Ogden, Tex Walters and W. W. Garrett. t Wedding Told. A late luncheon was served. si Dinner, Dancing Entertain Visitors A dinner party at the Starlite Gardens atop the Hotel Utah Monday evening was a courtesy for Miss Virginia Dayis and Miss Elizabeth Gaines, of Columbia, South Carolina, guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Garrity of Copperton. Dr. and Mrs. H. C. Jenkins were hosts. Gardenia corsages made up the centerpiece and were giv-en later as favors. There were 18 guests. Other parties for the visitors included a picnic at Maxfields Sunday which was attended by 30 friends; a breakfast at the Coun-try Club Saturday for 12. with Mrs. Leland A. Walker of Salt Lake City and Mrs.. L.S. Breckon of Copperton as joint hostesses; a luncheon Monday at the home of Mrs. Louis Buehmun. . No. 1 Firemen's Auxiliary Mrs. Arthur Cook entertained Monday evening for the members of No. 1 Firemen's auxiliary at bridge and a late luncheon. Mrs. Eugene Jenkins, Mrs. William Cook and Mrs. Edith Peterson won prizes. There were eight members present. N3. ?. Firemen's Auxiliary There were 11 members of No. 2 Firemen's auxiliary present at the meeting Monday evening. Bridge followed business with Mrs. H. Smemolf and Mrs. E. S. Grant receiving prizes.
