There have been many complaints recently re-cently from residents In all sections or the city ns to the poor street light pervlco being furnished by the Utah Light and Railway company. As the hlorarch'a company receives moro than three thou sand dollars a month for such service, the question Is naturally asked as to why It cannot bo compelled by tho city govern-meat govern-meat to have all the arc lights along tho streets lighted Instead of a portion ot them. Many Lights Out. Recently there havo been a number ol lights out of service nightly in various sec-tlons sec-tlons of the city, and as a result persons living in the "dnrk sections," who rc malncd out after 8 o'clock In the evening, havo been compelled to gropo their way to their residences in tho blackness as best they could. No Deduction on Bills. With all this. It Is 3nld that no deduction deduc-tion Is ever made on tho light bills presented pre-sented to the city. The company receives an average of $3000 per month foi lighting the city, 512 lamps being requlreo for this purpose, and this should light tho city well but It does not. Tho Trlbuno will be glad to have citizens and taxpayers tax-payers report to the office whenever an arc light is not lighted, giving' tho location loca-tion and length of tlmo it is not burning.
