Show POWER OF LOVE HELD GREATER THAN HATRED "Love" is the subject of the lesson-sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, August 4th. Among the Scriptural citations is the following: "And David said to Saul, Wherefore hearest thou men's words, saying, Behold, David Da-vid seeketh thy hurt? Behold, this day thine eyes have seen how that the Lord had delivered deliver-ed thee today into mine hand in the cave: and some bade me kill thee: but mine eye spared thee. And Saul lifted up his voice and wept. And he said to David, Thou art more righteous than I: for thou hast rewarded me good, whereas I have rewarded thee evil" (I Samuel, Chap. 24). Correlative to the citations are th following passages from "Science "Sci-ence and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy: "Truth has no consciousness of error, Love has no sense of hatred. hat-red. Life has no partnership with death (p. 243). Human hate has no legitimate mandate and no kingdom. Love is enthroned (p. 454). At all times and under all circumstances, overcome evil with good. Know thyself, and God will supply the wisdom and the occasion for a victory over evil. Clad in the panoply of Love, human hatred cannot reach you" (p. 571). |
