Show : A NEW INCORPORATION 1 Salt Lake Security and Trust Com- pany Files Articles. A Step Forward for McGurrin & Co, In the filing of articles of Incorporation Incorpora-tion for the Salt Lake Security & Trust company, which took place in this city yesterday, a step forward was marked In tho history of McGurrin & Co., the Investment bankers, the Incorporation In-corporation meaning nothing moro than that the business will be conducted with larger scope and volume, tho'same careful, care-ful, conservative methods that have always al-ways marked the career of this concern being retained throughout. This latest move 1b In atrlklng contrast con-trast to the small beginning of many years ago. It simply shows what progress can be mude when a conservative business, needful to the community, from the standpoint of either borrower or lender, Is conducted along careful lines. Tho steadily growing business has assumed as-sumed vast proportions, nnd is a remarkable re-markable object lesson to those who have fallen Into the error of believing that all of tho financial Intelligence in the country Is centered in the larger cities. The public are becoming practically practi-cally educated in tho matter of conservative con-servative investments, and the demonstration demon-stration of this has been largely 'responsible 're-sponsible for the steady growth of this old firm, which has made money for thousands of Investors, and successfully handled any number of estates to the entire satisfaction of tho heirs. The authorized capital under the new Incorporation Is J500.000, divided Into preferred and common stock. Tho common com-mon stock Is taken by F. E. McGurrin for his aspets, tho holders of tho preferred pre-ferred stock first receiving the dividends and principal. The officers are as follows: fol-lows: F. E. McGurrin, president; F. S Bascom, vice-president; Edward Home, cashier; and the directors of the company com-pany are E. D. "Woodruff, Edward McGurrin. Mc-Gurrin. C. E. Raybould, F. J. Gustln nnd Harry "W. Davis. The new Security ,fc Trust building purchased by Mr. McGurrin Inst spring Is owned by the company. This building was handsomely equipped for banking purposes on the first floor, and the remainder of the building, which was thoroughly remodeled, and which Is five stories high, 1st occupied by prominent business and profesplonal men, who havo their offices there. Every lloor la provided with a fire and burglar-proof vault for the use of tenants, ten-ants, tho building Is ntcnm heatod and well lighted, and thcro Is an air of newness about the building -which makes It most desirable. The outlook for the future of this old established firm Is certainly In keeping with the rapid growth of the city, and another sign of the promising times to come. |
