Show NATIONAL ISSUES ONLY AT REPUBLICAN RALLY Special to Tho Tribune. PARK CITY, Oct. 20. The Republican meeting at tho Dewey theater last evening eve-ning wns a very successful one. At S:S0 o'clock the building wa3 well filled with thoso interested in tho Issues of tho present pres-ent campaign, and when Chairman Henry Welsh of tho Republican county commlt-teo commlt-teo Introduced Judgo Rood, tho speaker of tho evening, ho was greeted with hearty applause. Judgo Reed's speech was logical and full of good, sound Republican doctrino. Ho had comparatively llttlo to say upon the conditions as they now exist in Utah, but dwelt at length upon the national Issues of this year. The audlcnco was Interested and showed it, while overy mention of the President's namo called forth prolonged applause. Tho Federal tunnel is now opened up and the track and air lino aro both laid into the face of tho tunnel. This week tho work of cxtondlng this tunnel and of continuing the work into tho Mazeppa ground was begun. J. M. Lockhart Is In Salt Lake City upon legal business. i Mcsdamcs M. M, F. Allen. Tj. E. United Stales Marshal Ben Haywood came up this morning and Is spending tho day in tho camp. a The football team of the Park City High school has arranged for two games with the tram from the East Side High school of Salt Lake City. Tho first game will be played October G. at Walker's field In Salt Lako. and the second one here in tho baseball park on Thanksgiving Thanksgiv-ing day. |
