Show DEATH CALLS ANOTHER OF UTAH'S PIONEERS Special to Tho Tribune. ' Ephralm,' Aug. 12. The legion of friends and old acquaintances of John IT. Otter-strom Otter-strom will be pained to learn of his death, which occurred In this city yesterday, afternoon. af-ternoon. The Immediate cause of death due due to Inflammation of the bowels, caused by drinking cold water, together with a renewed case of pneumonia. Saturday the deceased was at Spring City loading a car of grain. The day was oppressively hot and In rushing the loading load-ing of the grain, Mr. Otlcrstrom became overheated. When tho vork was nearly completed ho drank copiously of cold spring water. Soon afterward he complained com-plained of nines.-, and returned to his homo In this city. Medical aid was summoned, but a lieffort sto save his life were futile. His condition grew gradually worse and after three days of suffering the deceased passed to the great beyond. Mr. Otterstrom was one of the pioneers of this valley and has done much for tho material advancement of his home town, lie was recognlccl as one of the progressive progres-sive business men of this county. Mr. Otterstrom was a native of Norway, Nor-way, born In Christiana in 1&0, nnd camo to rtah In 185G. The family crossed the plain with Canute Peterson's train of emigrants, emi-grants, locating at Ephralm in 1S57. For several years they lived within the Indian fort elected In this city. The deceased has served as City Councilor and has assisted as-sisted in the building of many Improvements Improve-ments for the public. He leaves a widow and five children. Funeral services will be conducted at the Tabernacle Sunday afternoon. Postmaster and Mrs. Adolph Hansoi and J. N. Hason and .family aro visiting relatives In Cache valley this week. a Oliver Chrlstcnsen returned homo this week, after an absence of two years In Idaho. |
