Show I GREEKS MAY JOIN UNION."3 Life of Active Organizer Is Verbally Threatened by Opponents. At tho close of a meeting of tho Western West-ern Federation of Miners, held at Blng-hum Blng-hum Junction last night to consider tho question of tho admission of Greeks to itho union, tho life of Dr. P. G. P. Attlas, who has been very actlvo in organizing his countrymen, was threatened. A group of Greeks were heard to say, "Shoot him!" and "Kill him!" At this President Charters of tho union thought it advisable to securo tho protection of Deputy Shorlff Ira Bockstead, who accompanied ac-companied Dr. Attias to Murray. Tho union voted unanimously to admit tho Greeks to moinbersldp and elected James Sotcr, a Greek, as vlco-prcsldont and Interpreter. Dr. Attlas has also been elected an honorary mcmbeit The doctor doc-tor sayn that the Greeks will very generally gen-erally avail themselves of tho opportunity opportuni-ty to join tho union. |
