The State department today called on the Department Depart-ment of Justice to take action In the case of Hugh Gurney, third secretary of the British Embassy, who was fined yesterday by JuBtlco Phelps of Lee, Mass., for contempt of court and for speeding his automobile. It is expected expect-ed that Attorney-General Moody will send a special District Attorney to Lee to Investigate 'the matter. The Attorney-General today, at the request of the State departmont telegraphed tele-graphed United States Attorney Moul-ton Moul-ton at Boston to take the necessary steps to secure Mr. Gurney in all his legal rights, to make a full Investigation Investiga-tion of the facts and to report the matter mat-ter to the department at his earliest convenience. |
