Show COorlc of tbe Women's 0fi Ladies' Literary. "Some Authors I Have Known" was the subject of a most entertaining informal in-formal talk at the Ladies' Literary club on Friday afternoon when Airs. Ira II. Lewis- told of a few of tho writers of modern times that she has had the pleasure of meeting. Airs. Lewis was one of a party that mado the tour of Europe last summer, and among the number wero several people of literary fame, including Airs. Hogan-Rlco of "Airs. Wiggs" fame. Whllo in Europe Airs. Lewis met Anthony Hopo. Jerome K. Jerome, Alaric Corelll, and was present pres-ent at a dinner in London given ln honor of Airs. Humphrey Ward. Airs. S. W. Alorrison also gave an interesting paper nt the meeting, "In the Public Eye." devoting much of tho time to a review of the Japanesc-Rus-oian situation. Airs. Alorrison also gave an outline of the Panama question and other subjects of current Interest. The musical part of the programme was furnished by Airy. W. G. Tuttlc, who gave two harp solos, Aire. Peahody playing the piano accompaniments. |
