ASKED TO RESIGN Pastor of Denver Church Accused of Sensationalism Omaha Neb Oct 1G1Ith the first day of the Christian church convention conven-tion came the announcement from the general board that Bruce Brown pastor pas-tor of the Central Christian church of Denver has been asked to resign on the ground of t ennatlonnllsm Roy Brown will reach the city tomorrow It was staled In connection with the announcement that Rev Brown has Invited In-vited lo his pulpit people lo discuss labor la-bor i and other questions and at one timehe permitted an avowed enemy o C the Christian church to speak from his pulpit In order that he might combat the mans views in a formal answer Rev Brown was asked by the board of elders lo resign but he said he believed be-lieved l a majority ox the general board Avould sustain his position The matter mat-ter was then left to that board which tt today by u decisive majority upheld tho board of elders and Insisted on his resignation res-ignation h A member of the board saId that Rev Browns character was believed i to be above reproach but that t the board did not believe he was conducting Ills pul i hit in a manner becoming a mInister I of the Christian church I
