Show r 7 KilLED BY A LIVE WIRE l Another Fatal Accident at Portland Cement Works I Y J 1 FREBH0LMBERG IS 1 VICTIM t 10 t r rr Electric Shock Causod Him to rp Fall TwsntyFivo Feet Skull Fractured and Death Results Instantly Tragedy in Presence r Pres-ence of a Brother j Another distressing accident occurred nt the Portland Cement works yesterday yester-day afternoon by which Fred Noun bert a structural Iron worker In the employ of the Minneapolis Steel and Machinery company met instant death I by coming In contact with a live wire The accident was all the more distressing i distress-ing f from the fact that the dead mans i brother was working beside him and yet was powerless to prevent the accident acci-dent whIch caused his death HOW IT HAPPENED At the lime of the accident which occurred shortly after 1 oclock in the afternoon HOlmberg was engaged in painting the Inside roof of a steel buildIng build-Ing which the Minneapolis Steel and Machinery company is i putting up for the Portland Cement company Tn moving mov-ing about Ilolmliprg stepped on a lire xviio grabbed a rod of iron which formed a short circuit and 1 was in slanlly rendered unconscious His brother John II Ilolmbcrg who was working within a few feet of him ran to his rescue succeeded In loosening Ills grasp froin the wire but wns unable un-able to hold him and Ilolmbcrg fell a distance of twcntyfhe feet striking his head on a gear wheel The rkull was fractured a distance of two inches In the back and death was practically Instantaneous Dr A S Bower was summoned but life was extinct before he reached the unfortunate man at the cement works t WAS BORN AT ALTA Martin Frllzhoff Holmberg or Iici as he was called by his associates I asso-ciates was born at Alta in this county a little more than twentyeight years I ago and had spent the greater part of his life here For the past two years i I he had been working for the Minneapolis Minneapo-lis company as a structural iron worker J r and was one of its valued employees He 1 was the son of John and Anna Ilolm berg of Granger and In addition to I i his parents brothers and iisters leaves g a young wife I and a slxmonlhsold I r babe He also made his home at Gran y i Her driving out every evening after work t i Members of the family living at i Granger were immediately notified of 1 the accident and came at once to Salt J Luke Nn arrangements have yet been I made for the funeral |
