Mr. and Mrs. Orson Downard and children of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Nerdin and family of West Jordan; Mrs. Louis Babcock of Ogden were Mothers' day dinner din-ner guests and visitors Sunday of their parents, Mr.and Mrs. S. T. Nerdin. Mrs. Babcock remained here to visit a week with her parents and friends. ; two weeks with her daughter, Mrs. Wesley Barton. Mr. and Mrs. W. S. D. Brown and family spent Sunday in Logan Lo-gan visiting Mrs. Gladys Harrison, Harri-son, a sister of Mrs. Brown. The Sunday school teachers' training classes being conducted by Miss Nell Wright of Salt Lake City one day each week at the M. E. Community church are drawing a good attendance. Next meeting will be at 2:30 p. m. Thursday. Anyone interested in the instruction being offered may attend the classes. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fike and daughter, Patty Lee, of Copper-ton Copper-ton were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. Smernoff Wednesday, Wednes-day, the occasion being Patty Lee's sixth birthday. Billy Johnson, shortstop of the Gemmell club baseball team, returned re-turned to work at the Utah Copper Cop-per company warehouse Monday after several weeks' absence, due junior high award assembly will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 22. A car belonging to Joe Jaure-qui Jaure-qui which wa sparked on Main street, at 8:30 a.m. Thursday coasted down the street, jumped the curb and smashed a large plate glass window in the front of Safeway store. Miss Maude Jensen, a member of the Bingham high school faculty, fac-ulty, spent last week-end at Poca-telfo, Poca-telfo, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Dunn and family spent Sunday visiting Mrs. Dunn's mother, Mrs. Stella Shea, at Eureka. Mr. and Mrs. J. William Grant and daughter, Karen, spent Sunday Sun-day at Richfield visiting Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Hansen, Mrs. Grant's parents. The Utah Power and Light company line gang spent Sunday working on a line between Magna and Bingham. Mrs. M. Smernoff, Mrs. Lester Sumnicht, Mrs. Harry Parker and Mrs. Isabel Dobson. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Shelley and daughters, Gail and Norma, spent Sunday with Mrs. Leo T. Shelley of American Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Charles . Bates were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Alma Mantle last evening. Mrs. James Roskelly of Smith-field Smith-field returned home Monday after af-ter a week's visit with her son-in-law and daughter, Mrs. William Wil-liam Mclvor of Copperfield. The Busy Bees, a sewing group, met with Mrs. Clyde Olson of Markham Tuesday evening. The five present spent a social evening even-ing and enjoyed a luncheon. Principal A. H. Atwood of the Copperfield grade school and Mrs. Atwood were hosts Wednesday Wednes-day evening at a dinner party. Guests were Mrs. Laura Hooton, Duretta Atkinson, Ellen Hansen, Edna Holbrook and Lydia Swen-son. to foot injuries suffered in a preseason pre-season baseball game between Gemmell club and the Salt Lake Bees. Mr. Johnson hopes to be back in the clubmen's lineup in about a week. An emergency appendectomy was performed Friday for Miss Betty Householder at the Bingham Bing-ham Canyon hospital. Her recovery re-covery is described as satisfactory. A bus load of students from Soda Springs high school at Soda Springs, Idaho, visited Bingham and the Utah Copper mine here last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. II. R. Gust, Gordon, Gor-don, Magdalyn and Don Gust, and Mrs. Edith Peterson and daughter, dau-ghter, Darlene, visited Mrs. Charles Charl-es Candall of Orem Tuesday evening. ev-ening. Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Martin of 417 Main street have announced announc-ed the birth of a son May 9 at the family home. Called home because of illness of her father, Mrs. John Maple of Casper, Wyo., is visiting with her mother, Mrs. O. D. Henry of Murray. The M.M. degree was conferred conferr-ed on Harold Chesler of Salt Lake City by Canyon lodge No. 13, F.&A.M., at their regular semi-monthly meeting Tuesday evening at Masonic hall. A lunch was served following the meeting meet-ing to 31 members present. The Bingham junior chamber of commerce softball team lost their first game in the Utah State junior chamber of commerce softball league to Tooele Wednesday Wed-nesday evening by a score of 9-4. The game was played at Tooele. The locals held a 3-2 lead going into the fifth inning when Tooele Jaycees began hitting the ball, and with further, aid of a couple of errors by the locals pushed over the winning runs.
