Show FILLMORE0 CHILD ' DROWNS IN CANE News of the accidental death by drowning of Ralph Joseph Freeman, 3, son of Dr. and Mrs. R. W. Freeman of Fillmore, Utah, was received here last night. The child was a grandson of Mrs. John Vietti and a nephew of Joseph P. Scussel. His mother is the former Miss Lena Scussel. About 5:30 p.m. the boy and a playmate were in the garden at the rear of the Freeman home, throwing rocks across an irrigation irriga-tion canal. Ralph Joseph is thought to have lost his balance, and toppled into the water. The body was recovered about three blocks from the Freeman home. An unusually sturdy child, Ralph Joseph could swim, but bruises on his head indicated he had struck it on the bottom of the canal. He was born November 2, 1936, in Fillmore. Surviving are his parents and his grandmother, Mrs. Vietti. Mr. and Mrs. Vietti and son, Bartley, Mr. Scussel and Earl T. James left last night by car' for Fillmore. |
