Yo Rhodes on Wagner and the Ffayreuth Festival The lecture will be given under the auspices of the music mu-sic section of the Ladles Literary club and promises to be one of the musical events of the season Not only does the lecture include a sketch of Wagners life and of his great works but Mrs > > Rhodes spent several seasons tit Bay rcuth and enjoyed personally the presentation pre-sentation of the Wagner operas and her descriptions of The Ring of the Nlbelungcn and Parsifal are paid lobe lo-be indescribably fascinating The realistic real-istic effect of her descriptions are heightened by the use of 120 beautifully colored pictures The musical accom panlmentM are played by Adolf Glosc a finished pianist of New York City Short Story Contest Members of the Ladles Literary club are looking forward with great intercut to the outcome of the shortstory con tcsct which will be announced at the Friday afternoon meeting of the club At the beginning of tho present club year cash prizes of 20 and 10 were offered of-fered members of the club for the bent short story the object being to encourage en-courage original work The snorles were to be of 10000 words or less the writers to sign
