The! petition may designate upon the lace thereof one or more persons per-sons who shall represent the signers thereof to fill any vacancies vacan-cies in the nominations made by the petition. Section 7. The certificate or petition of nomination of candidates candi-dates shall be filed witli the city recorder not more than forty nor less than thirty days before the election, Any person nominated may within twenty-five days' prior to the election, in writing1 duly signed and acknowledged, i notify the city recorder that he has declined the nomination, in which event said nomination shall be void and the name of such candidate shall not be printed print-ed upon the party ticket certifying certify-ing his nomination. In the event that any person nominated resigns re-signs or declines his nomination as herein provided, or dies before be-fore election day, or if any certificate certi-ficate of nomination is insufficient insuffici-ent or not operative, the vacancy thus occasioned may not less than twenty days before the election elec-tion be filled in the manner provided pro-vided for in the certificate or petition pe-tition of nomination which has been filed with the city recorder, record-er, or in the manner required for the original nomination. Section 8. All petitions and certificates of nomination which are in apparent conformity with the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed valid unless ob-1 jection thereto shall be duly made in writing within three days after the filing of the same. In case such objection is made, notice thereof shall forthwith be mailed to all candidates who might be affected thereby. The city recorder shall pass upon the validity of such objection and his decision shall be final, provided pro-vided that he shall decide such objection within forty-eight hours after the same is filed, and any objection sustained may be remedied re-medied by an amendment of the original petition or certificate of nomination, or by filing a new petition or certificate of nomination nomina-tion within five days after such objection is sustained. Section 9. A list of all nominations nomina-tions shall be posted by the city recorder in at least six conspicu- ous places in said city five days prior to the election or such notice no-tice may be published twice in a newspaper published in said city, the last publication to be in the . issue just prior to the election. The city recorder shall five days before the election cause six sample ballots to be delivered to each registration agent and voting place and the same shall be posted for public inspection, one of which shall be placed at each voting place. Section 10. In the opinion of the city council it is necessary to the peace, health, and safety of the inhabitants of the City of Bingham Canyon that this ordinance or-dinance become effective immediately. im-mediately.
