Show BETTER WAIT A LITTLE Surely the Council made a mistake In cutting dcwn down the sanitation force at this time It was a mistake In itself It-self as well as a mistake In the peremptory per-emptory way in which It was done In refuting to hear from the Health Commissioner Com-missioner as to whether the five extra Inspectors could be spared or not As a matter of fact it Is a poor time to spare them just as we are fighting to eradicate eradi-cate typhoid and when the city needs to be jut In order for the winter The excuse for their discharge made by the Democratic boss I that they wore doing more work In the line of polilics than that of sanitation was no doubt a mere exhibition of partisan hate and stupidity while his other claim that there is no further need of the additional men was made In complete com-plete Ignorance since he refused to wait for the opinion of the Health Commissioner Commis-sioner on the very point which he so arbitrarily Ignorantly and recklessly decided His opinion on a mailer of that hind is of not the slightest value while if this is a Republican Council his partisan sneer should certainly have had the contrary effect from what he intended it to have Aside from politics poli-tics however It Is extremely dangerous to trifle in this Ignorant manner with the public health and we trust to nee the notion of the Council held up at least long enough so that the public can be fully Informed In the premises and learn whether or not It Is safe to take the action proposed |
