POISONED BY THIEVES 1I 1I I 1 i I Burglars Ransack Home Kentucky Planter and Administer Narcotics i Which May Prove ratal Pert ytllk Ky Nov Robert Robinson Is dangerously ill and his wife lies at the point of death as the tt result of a desperate attempt to take their lives at their home a mile east of Perryvllle i During the night burglars entered the I residence prepared a meal dhled and i ransacked the house taking everything ir r that could he conveniently carried award awar-d morning Mr RobInson and his j wife arose later thnn usual In a drowsy js condition which Indicated that narcotics had been administered Mrs Robinson hastily prepared breakfast Shortly after af-ter the meal both became desperately ill a4 experiencing excruciating pains in their stomachs I They had no way of summoning a i t physician as their nearest neighbor I lives half a mile away and neither was 11 able to go or call for assistance s r The burglars had left a can of lard In r the kitchen and the two old people managed man-aged to reach the can and swallow large l quantities of the lard which served in a measure to counteract the effect of the l j1 poison Late in the afternoon a neighbor 1 neigh-bor called to see Mr Robinson on busl r 1 ness and found both him and his wife + r In an unconscious condition and 1 q promptly summoned a physician who C + i brought Mr Robinson to consciousness I A and it Is thought he will recover but 1 i his wife Is fatally 111
