Show iIDEMAN IS CRUSHED ThirtyTon Steel Girder Pins I Him Down ONE OTHER MAN IS HURT Six Others Fell With Hugh Piece of Motal Dead Man Was but Twenty Years of Age and His Home Was in Michigan TRIBUNE SPECIAL Pocatello Ida Aug GJohn 1 Ramsey a brldgcman In the employ of tho engineering department of the Oregon Ore-gon Short Line died here this morning and Herbert Forney was sent to the hospital at Soil Lake as the result of the falling of n thlrtytwoton steel girder that was beIng put Into place on a bridge over Hams Fork near Opal Wyo yesterday GALLOWS FRAME FALLS JRArE The huge piece of metal had been raised in the temporary gallows frame erected at each end of the old bridge and was just being lowered when from some cause unknown the gallows frame at one end fell over EIGHT MEN > ON FRAME There were eight men on the frame at the time and all jumped Into the river and escaped without Injury except ex-cept Ramsey and Forney who clung to the frame nnd were Injured by Its timbers tim-bers Ramsey was unconscious when picked up He was at once forwarded to the temporary hospital hero but died early this morning without having regained re-gained consciousness Forneys Injuries Inju-ries are slight HOME IN MICHIGAN < Young Ramsey was less than 20 years of age and his home was in Michigan where his father now resides He was a brother of Mrs D W Church and Mrs C 1 Bosworth of this city |
