Show SOCIAL AND PERSONAL Yesterday was newspaper day at the Ladles Literary club The ideal newspaper news-paper from lie standpoint of ono not a member of the profession was delineated delin-eated by Mrs C S Kinney whilethe modern newspaper was defended by Judge Goodwin The attendance was large and much Interest shojvjv in the addresses each being greeted with hearty applause A business meeting of the club followed fol-lowed the programme at which Mrs Henry Wallace was elected historian In place of Mrs Eliza K Roylc re ilgned Mrs Hosmer was elected a director to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of airs A II S Bird and Mesdames Cowan Vincent and Montgomery were chosen as members of the election committee S vTho Athletic association of the University Uni-versity of Utah gave a most delightful dancing party at Chrlstcnsens last evening i The Young Ladles Mutual association associa-tion of the Fourteenth ward gave a paper ball last night the proceeds to help swell the fund for the new wo mans building on Temple avenue Many of the young ladles were attired In striking paper costumes but the young men were not so enterprising A very good lime was passed by all a 4 The Elite Social club gave a danco last night at the Ladles Literary club W Mr and Mrs tale Jones of Kokomo Iud arc visitors In ZIon They arc returning home from a three months visit In old Mexico and California a S w Mr and Mrs George W Sharp of Kokomo hid arc visiting In Salt Lake guests of the family of John Zlnk on South Main street They will remain several weeks Mrs Boa Harmon and her son Paul Ilnrmon Of I31oomsburg Pa are In the city the guests oC James P Freeze at 731 East Second South street Mrs Harmon Is a slstjr of Mr Freeze and she and hpr bon will remain until the early summer Both visitors were here nine years ago Nearly all of Mr Freezes relatives live In Pennsylvania and although hey arc to be reckoned by i dozens Mr Freeze is the only one of the Mormon faith |
