| Show I SOME AMUSING LETTERS Inquiries Received Postofflce From Young Ladies I We get some queei letters here said Postmaster A L Thomas yesterday I yester-day Nearly every mail brings us I some odd request the majority oC I which we arc unable to comply witji i Some of the letters that come would I make iiiterestihg reading but of course they cannot be given out For Instance I a long time ago I got a letter from i a girl In the South She wrote to ask I me for certain Information about a young man who she wrote had once lived In Salt Lake It seems some rp ports about him had reached her and 1 she wanted me to do some Investigating Investigat-ing for her It was evident that the report I port expected from me would have considerable to do with the yourjg ladys answer to a proposal Not being I be-ing a jprlvate I detective and being a Government officially I naturally did not comply with the request Another letter came from a young lady l not Jong ago She wrote from an II Eastern State inclosing a photograph of a young man She wrote that he was in Salt Lake and requested that I keep an eye on his doings ascertaining whether he went out with young I ladles here etc and report to her so she would know whether he was true I to her These are only fair samples of dozens of letters which reach us As I say if they could be made public some of them would be amusing readIng read-Ing but we are not allowed to give these things out even supposing we wanted to |
