Show FAREWELL RECEPTION Tendered RT Eaton by Members of Christian Union A farewell reception was last evenIng even-Ing tendered R T Eaton who leaves for the East tomorrow by the members mem-bers of the Young Peoples Christian union The recoptfon was held nt the First Methodist church and was attended at-tended by a hundred or more friends of Mr Eaton who has done much for the uplifting of the young people of the city since his coming here some seven years ago He has been connected with the Epworth league and the Y P C Uf having been president of both societies and has gained many friends A pleasing literary and musical pro gramme was rendered those participating I partici-pating being Miss Lizzie Davis Mrs Reed Wesley Davis and the Y M C A quartette Following this Dr Silver Sil-ver made a neat little speech in which i he referred to the good work done by I Mr Eaton and on behalf of the young people of the union presented him with a beautiful portfolio The recipient responded feelingly assuring his friends of his genuine good will for them all and urged the young people on to greater effort In the work of the master At the close of the programme light refreshments were served and a social time enjoyed |
