Show CHINESE ENTERTAINMENT 1 Given by Pupils of Mission School i of First M E Church I The pupils of the Chinese mission school of the First M ID church gave in entertainment and banquet Tucsdav iur evening A vary Interesting programme of mu flc recitations Scripture rending an i original essay and an address of welcome wel-come to their teachers and invited guests II The pupils expressed their gratitude 2 and appreciation of the labors of those who had so generously labored In their t behalf while the progresa and advancement advance-ment which the pupils showed must in deed have been gratifying to those dis interested workers a Yep Foo who has lately come here from Pnsadeim Cal gave a very Interesting In-teresting account of the Chinese mission mis-sion work in that city and of his conversion con-version from Idolatry to Christianity He expects ere long to return to his native land as a missionary After the programme the guests were served IL supper fit for a king An cle tfimt spread and finely served The Chl Jiso orchestra accompanied with music which added much to the occasion I Brief addresses by Dr lllff Rev J A Smith Rev A H Henry and others expressive of their interest and plea Kiue were the closing features of a j very interesting occasion all agreeing that mission work among the Chinese Is not a failure |
