Show SMELTERMANS AWFUL DEATH Alfred Moses Slowly Crushed Under Elevator at Highland Boy Smelter Yesterday Morning 1 Alfred Moses a skimmer employed at the Highland Boy smeller near Murray Mur-ray met a horrible death at an early hour yesterday morning by being crushed under an elevator weighing more than a ton The accident was not witnessed I by any of the victims fellow workmen nor was any o tcty1 heard At the time of the accident Moses was I returning from the scalehousc to his post In the smelter building Instead of taking the usual course around the elevator shaft It Is thought he tried to save time by walking through the elevator ele-vator shaft which extends but a few feet beneath the surface It Is believed that after he had cot under the elevator ele-vator as It was descending he was caught by It before lie could get clear of the shaft and there being no possible possi-ble avenue of escape he was slowly crushed to death The first Intimation of the tragedy came when It was discovered that the elevator had not reached entirely to the bottom 013 the shiCLVhcn It was raised the mangled form was presented to view The remains were at once removed re-moved from the nit and transferred to tho home of the deceased In Taylors vllle vllleMosos Mosos had been employed at the smelter for several years past He was 27 years of age and leaves a wife and five children |
