M P gla of the staff received her her training at the Utah State Agricultural college At Logan where she trained in social work vork and for the past two t and one half one half years has been employed in the Cache county department of public welfare Child welfare services have been available through the public welfare department since 1938 1933 which W h i c h includes provision for every child who has a need for special assis assis- assistance assistance tance Mr Wilcox said and the guidance which might be necessary to assure security promotion and an opportunity for development within the home if possible Working mothers has increased the number of child problems as aswell aswell aswell well as the need for developing daily care for children of these mothers in the county which made mado necessary the appointment of an aI additional child welfare worker to relieve relie the situation said Mr Wilcox Day y care of of children has reached ached r great proportions especially in the north Davis war plant district dis dis- district Miss Allreds Allred's duties will concern the development if day care service in private homes td to t care for chil chil- children children children dren until adequate nursery schools can be provided and the care of o children who find it difficult to adjust themselves to group care Those who will care for children and those who need care for their offspring may contract Miss Allred at room at the t ie courthouse at Farm Farm- Farmington Farmington ington for further information The state recently passed the the- bill requiring the licensing and ap applications ap- ap applications for these licenses may maybe maybe maybe be obtained from Miss Allred A committee of 22 officials in various Davis county organizations has been appointed to supervise the welfare of the children involved m in inthis inthis this project Mr Wilcox announced They will work as an advisory group t to assist local county com com- committees committees in carrying out plans of the th welfare department and to super super- supervise supervise vise recreational programs now v under way The committee included included ed Mrs and Miss Allred Mrs Ellen Ryan public health nurse Hubert C.
