Show May Prosecute Trustees Trustees The AttorneyGeneral In a verbal given to tho State Board opinion gIcn Oar d of Health yesterday advised that the refractory re-fractory school trustees of Salt JLakc county or any other I county may be mnnditmuscd or prosecuted for misdemeanor misde-meanor if they persist In refusing to obey the order of the State Board of Health to exclude from the schools children unvacclnatcd or otherwise not Immune Also In cases where local boards of Health refuse to carry out the orders of the State board they may be prosecuted fpr misdemeanor Secretary Beatty said that action would now be Instituted by the acton board in several places In accordance with this ruling by the AttornevGeneral Tho secretary therefore sent a note yesterday I to superintendent B W Ash ton of the county schools In which he I said saidYour copy of the resolutions adopted at a recent mass meeting of the school trustees of Salt Lake county on the 26th ult received With reference to the same will say that the matter Is wl in the himdu of the County Board of Health It having Issued the order to the school trustees I is the duty of said board to enforce the order and It doubtless will do so Should it fall the State Board of Health will Immediately take action under the law to secure acto the rigid enforcement of the order |
